The Mountain Man©
Mountain men, one of the most revered figures in the history of the American west, trapping for fur.
Per Remington, “This Mountain Man I intend to be as one of those old Iroquois trappers who followed the fur companies in the Rocky Mountains in the 30’s and 40’s.” The sculpture depicts skillfulness balance in a surefooted steep descent, with great detailing of Mountain Man attire and accoutrements. The observer feels as if right there alongside in dangerous descent of this adventurous man and horse of the mountains.
